A Branding Session | The Fairhope Market
The Fairhope Market…
The Fairhope Market is a specialty grocer in Fairhope, Alabama. They offer local products and produce and specialty items. They have organic options as well. Over the past couple of weeks, I have had the pleasure of working with Johnny, Tyler & Amanda with The Fairhope Market. We visited several of their local suppliers to take branding photographs. It was so much fun meeting each of these local producers and getting to learn about their processes!
The grand opening is Tuesday, July 9th at 8AM. Their hours are 8:00AM Monday- Saturday and 10:00AM on Sunday. They will have produce, meat, and seafood selections. There is also a full, restaurant quality kitchen that offers hot and cold meals daily. The drive thru coffee shop will open at 6:30AM Monday-Saturday and 10:00AM on a Sunday and can be accessed through the store at 8AM.
Local Appetite Growers…
Local Appetite was founded in 2012 and is located in Silverhill, Alabama. Will and Karl formed Local Appetite with the belief that South Alabama was ready for higher quality locally grown vegetables. They offer an alternative to produce being shipped from thousands of miles away. Local Appetite Growers uses hydroponic and no-till organic beds as their growing methods. They supply Baldwin and Mobile County the freshest greens and most unique vegetables available. Local Appetite sells all of their produce within fifty miles of the farm. Their produce is on the menu in Mobile and Baldwin County’s finest restaurants, in the best grocery stores and markets, and they also offer a subscription based Local Produce Delivery service.
Will and Karl took me on a tour of all the greenhouses that house their amazing tomatoes and specialty lettuces, including rainbow swiss chard and mizuna lettuce. They also have several rows of heirloom squash, a house of cucumbers and even a few pigs.
Olympic Shellfish is family owned and operated. The company offers USA wild caught crab meat. They have been in business for more than two decades. Olympic is located in Bayou La Batre, AL. They offer jumbo lump, regular lump, claw meat, and clawfingers from a true blue crab. The live crabs are shipped in refrigerated trucks straight from Louisiana each day. From the truck, the live crabs are separated from the dead crabs and are boiled. They are then cooled, separated and taken to the pickers for processing.
Adam handcrafted the soon to be famous tree that is at the entrance of The Fairhope Market. The tree it an old live oak that was salvaged and re-purposed. Adam is the owner of Grassroots Wood Co. They strive to salvage trees that would typically end up in land fills. Another featured piece that is unique to The Fairhope Market is the counter top at the coffee bar. The old pine boards are salvaged from a barn that was owned the Klumpp family of Fairhope. Be sure and check out Adam’s custom made cutting boards that are for sale at The Fairhope Market.
